There’s been a lot of talk about a cargo airport that they’re building in St. Louis. The airport is meant to function as a major transportation hub with China. Naturally it’s being built to create jobs and revenue for the recession hit state. But not everyone is behind it. The project will cost upwards to 400 million dollars, which some are calling a waste of money. The main problem, dissidents say, is that the air port is nowhere near the markets China truly cares about. And a major China hub of transportation is located At O’Hara airport in nearby Chicago. So is the St. Louis hub a risky but good idea? Or one that’s destined to fail? You can read the article here and determine for yourself.

It’s not something you regularly think about since the focus is usually on things we see everyday like cars, trucks and 18 wheelers. But what about these giant island sized shipping vessels? Who’s monitoring them? Well setting emissions standards for these vehicles are difficult since they operate on a global scale. That means there has to be global standards and in order for that to happen everybody has to work together. According to a Cargo News article China in particular has balked at regulations. Until things can be progressed further steps are being made to institute regional standards.

There has been a determined and sustained push for more energy efficient cars in the US and abroad. And thanks to this push we’re seeing more hybrids and smart cars on the road. People and businesses are honestly trying to change the way we get around in order to improve the health of the earth. But what about the things that transport our cars? Those giant floating car carriers which resemble islands more than they do boats. How eco-friendly are they? Answer: not very. One uses an average of 120 gallons of fuel per mile. Well the Auriga Leader is trying to change all of this. It’s a hybrid container vessels that partially solar powered due to the row of solar panels its fitted with.

Getting your car shipped somewhere can cost a good chunk of money. But you do have options and steps that you can follow in order to negate some of this cost. A lot of what you end up paying for a car shipment is due to the mode of transportation. Generally, there are two different ways you can transport a vehicle, the first is via enclosed container. These usually only ship two to four cars at a time and are more expensive. The second and more common option is an open car carrier. Interested in knowing the different between the two? You can read our open air carrier article here.

The definition of a classic is something that endures and stands the test of time. But that doesn’t happen all by itself, especially in the case of classic cars. They take years of care, repair and dedication. Many of these beauties feature custom paint jobs that can be prized almost as much as the cars themselves. Classic car owners are all about properly caring for their vehicle but what about when they need to take it elsewhere to show it off? Well more times than not they opt for enclosed container car transportation. If you’d like to know more enclosed car transportation then you can read our article here.
